Three organizations of the disabled have formed a human chain to demand Rs 2,000 allowance for the disabled and guarantee government, private and self-employment resources. On Saturday (April 2) at noon, a human chain program was held at Daulatdia Ferry Ghat of Goland Upazila by Goland Upazila Disability Development Organization and Rajbari Disability Development Council and Social Welfare Humanitarian Organization.
Ratan Sheikh, president of the Goland Handicapped Development Organization, presided over the human bond organized from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. The general secretary of the organization spoke. Monnab Sheikh, joint general secretary. Siddique Sardar, Treasurer Rafiqul Islam, Member Majeda Begum etc. Members of three organizations were present in the thirty-minute human chain.
After expressing agreement with their demands, the mayor of Goland Municipality appeared. Nazrul Islam. Upazila Awami League organizational secretary and municipal councilor Nasir Uddin Roni, Devgram Union Parishad chairman Hafizul Islam, local A.League leaders Ujjal Hossain Babu, Matiar Rahman, Nilu Mandal and others.
Speakers said, we are making a strong demand to the Prime Minister so that we can get an honorarium of two thousand rupees in the future. Also, I demand the assurance that disabled people can work in various private or self-employed organizations as well as government institutions. We will protest until our demands are met.
